The Regional Park of Porto Conte - Capo Caccia

The Marine Protected Area Capocaccia - Isola Piana, to the north of Alghero, is marked by its high limestone cliffs and caves lapped by crystal-clear waters. To the east is the promontory of Capo Caccia with its Grotta Verde (green cave), covered in moss and lichen, while beneath the rocky spur opens the Grotta di Nettuno (Neptune’s cave), which can be accessed from the land side by negotiating the stairway known as Escala del Cabirol.

Asinara National Park

The island of Asinara, which can be reached from the new port of Stintino and from Porto Torres, offers the opportunity for stays and numerous excursions, either by sea, trekking, mountain bike or off-road vehicles. The itineraries of the coastal stretches and those more towards the interior are of great interest also to bird and animal lovers. Especially interesting are the small white donkeys native to this island.
