A sneak preview
Vignola is found in the locality of Vignola Mare, in the municipal area of Aglientu. The beach is made up of fine, light-coloured sand with round pebbles along the water’s edge. It is reached from the town of Vignola Mare, following the signposts for the Aragonese tower. Positioned on the eastern side of Punta di Lì Francesi, at the mouth of the Rio Vignola, the beach is in the midst of a landscape of great naturalistic beauty, enriched by the presence of historical testimonies of great interest, such as the visitable sixteenth-century tower, called La Turra, built upon an old tuna fishery and the small church of San Silverio, protecting the fishermen and sailors of the Gallura, celebrated in the month of June.
How to get there
To reach the beach it is necessary to come out of Aglientu and go towards the locality of Vignola Mare and from there, follow the signposts.
Useful information and facilities
The shallow, gently deepening waters are particularly suitable for children to play and swim in. The beach, with wheelchair access, offers various facilities, like a large car park, areas for campervans, campsite, hotel, cafe, restaurants and other refreshment areas. It is possible to rent beach umbrellas, sun-loungers, pedal boats and other craft. The variegated underwater world, in some areas most spectacular, is rich in fish and is much loved by scuba divers and snorkellers, who also have the added benefit of a diving centre.
