The juniper could be the plant symbol of the Supramonte, given the common twisted evocative form. It is the uncontaminated nature that is this territory’s calling card, right off from its name, evocative of a metaphysics that puts a mountain on top of another, lived in by species peculiar to the mountainous areas, such as the mouflon, the golden eagle, the marten, the chough and the vulture. The Supramonte still hides unexplored caves alongside forests of centuries-old holm oaks that have never been felled, a human presence restricted to the shepherds that still use the ‘cuiles’, huts that recall in form and substance the ancient nuraghe, and the top of Monte Corrasi which reaches 1463 metres above sea level, many times sung by Sebastiano Satta the poet of Sardinia.

It is also an area rich in archaeological testimonies, such as the village of nuragic huts of Sa Sedda 'e sos Carros, placed at the entrance to the valley of Lanaittu, interesting in the understanding of the water collection systems in the bronze age (1500 B.C.).
Of delightful charm is the visit to the doline (sinkhole) of monte Tiscali (518 metres), the inside of which holds a nuragic village, made up of huts with lintels and juniper wood covering: its inhabitants collected the water that strained from the walls of the cave that encircled the area.
In close proximity to Tiscali is also found the gorge of Su Gorropu, that with walls of over 400 metres in height is one of the highest canyons in Europe.
