The region of the Sarcidano stretches between the territories of the Campidano and the Barbagia.
Its areas offer a sequence of lively coloured highland environments and landscapes. In its luxuriant countryside, home to the oak and the chestnut tree, are the two artificial lakes of Mulargia and Flumendosa, useful for providing the water destined for irrigation and also the theatre of sporting events among which, boating and fishing competitions. Besides its agro pastoral vocation, among its people the textile and goldsmith activities are fervent: Isili is famous for its manufactured articles in copper, while Nurri and Orroli are centres for the production of millstones in local basalt, an activity which has by now almost disappeared in the rest of Sardinia.

The territory is dotted with numerous archaeological testimonies, such as the architectures of the nuraghi Is Paras in Isili - also home to an interesting museum dedicated to copper manufacture, the first in which the sounds of the blacksmith’s workshop can be heard.

Every area of the Sarcidano is, in fact, a microcosm waiting to be discovered: for the beauties of the architecture but also the cool environment of its valleys, with receptive structures also equipped for lake sports.
