A patrimony of nature

Strawberry tree fruit
A patrimony of nature The mountain and large hill woods are the habitat of some rare species, protected by regional laws since the nineteen seventies. In the open and rocky areas of the Supramonte it is still possible to observe the mouflon, an wild endemic ovine of Sardinia and Corsica; the male, an agile climber despite his size, has large, back-turned spiral horns.
Treasures of natureFloraThe scents and colours of the Sardinian countryside are typical of the flora spread along the basin of the Mediterranean, that take on different forms in the various zones of the island: verdant woods, bushy formations, and numerous endemic species.
Creatures of the islandA young mouflonA number of species have established their own habitat in Sardinia. Among amphibians, mammalian, vertebrates and birds, the island is inhabited by attractive creatures to the eyes of the enthusiasts, and are also interesting from the scientific viewpoint.
