Oases under environmental protection The awareness of both the importance and the uniqueness of mountain settings, threatened by deforestation and fire, has led to the creation of several wide and protected State areas, where they are trying to support both the reintroduction and the breeding of animal species which have already become rare. In most cases these parks are provided with signalled paths and rest areas so as to favour the excursionists’ walks.
