The island has a notable quantity of grapes that are ideal for the production of fortified wines. The most famous liqueur is certainly myrtle, but grappe and distillates are a close second.
Acquavite
Sardinian Acquavite, the same as grappas from some other Italian regions, is considered among the best for its organic characteristics.
Limoncello
Limoncello is a particularly well known liqueur and widely produced in Sardinia. This drink comes from Sardinian lemon; it is drunk after meals and also used for producing delicious sorbets.
Mirto
In Sardinia the consumption of a by-now famous liqueur is widespread:”Mirto”. Everywhere, restaurants, farm houses and cafes offer this speciality to be tasted.
