The town of wheat and bread
The town of Sanluri, whose territory stretches between Campidano and Marmilla, is situated halfway between Cagliari and Oristano. Due to its position it has always played a strategic role for communications, especially at a political and military level. Of considerable importance in this area are both the well-preserved castle of the Marquises of Villasanta and, from a culinary point of view, the typical "cifraxiu" bread which is even highly rated on the other side of the Atlantic.

Sanluri StatoJust a few kilometres from Sanluri in the middle of the Medio Campidano plain lies a little agricultural village known as Sanluri Stato. It is a railway junction connecting the Cagliari-Sassari line to the principal industrial area of Villacidro and San Gavino Monreale.
