Music

Launedda players
Sardinian music, the most conservative of its tradition among the regions facing the Mediterranean basin, presents a wide range of expressions, from the polivocal and monodic songs, with or without instruments, voice and languages, from Sardinian to Latin, to Italian and Spanish. Instruments deserve a special treatment, they are simple and complex at the same time, like the harmonica, or the accordion, which accompanies the ballo tondo (traditional dance), and the launeddas.
It is such an ancient and appreciated tradition that in Tadasuni, near Lake Omodeo, the first Museum of Popular Music Instruments has been set up. It shows a collection of the different ways to play music conceived by Sardinian people throughout the centuries.
